On Launching New Website for HCPBnow dot org

Dear Fellow Citizens:

Today marks the official launching of the new website "HCPBnow.org" in our campaign to return to hand counted paper ballots NOW, not later. This site was created in response to the ground-breaking evidence uncovered by BlackBoxVoting.org., as a result of two years of in-the-field investigations by Bev Harris and me, Kathleen Wynne, of election-related issues (featured in the HBO documentary, "Hacking Democracy"). Evidence which proved the insecurity, unreliability and unsustainable costs necessary in maintaining these extremely flawed electronic voting machines in our elections.


Our elections have become increasingly privatized and the United States Congress has sanctioned this privatization. Our elections are virtually owned and operated by corporations, overseen by "experts," and strictly managed by election officials. Citizens have been driven from the last refuge we have as a free people - our elections. THIS MUST CHANGE. Otherwise, we no longer live in a democracy, but exist under tyranny.

The election reform community has bent over backwards for years trying to work with our representatives in achieving "real" election reform. These representatives (except for a precious few) have continued to ignore and/or deny the truth about the lack of transparency, security and cost effectiveness inherent to all electronic voting machines. HCPBnow.org does not believe we can achieve real election reform through compromise that requires the continued use of these machines in any capacity in our elections. Machines do not belong in our elections. It's time to cut to the chase in achieving "real" election reform.

HCPBnow.org's first action is requesting that citizens sign a petition demanding the reintroduction of the federal Paper Ballot Act of 2006 in Congress (formerly H.R. 6200).

For you Texas voters, we ask that you also sign the Petition in support of the Texas Paper Ballot Act of 2007 (H.B. 3894) located next to the Texas State Flag on the home page!

Through these petitions and future actions, HCPBnow.org intends to build the "critical mass" of citizen support necessary to convince Congress that the majority of Americans do want to return to elections that are all hand counted paper ballots, at the precinct, on election night. Congress must comply by reintroducing and passing the Paper Ballot Act of 2006 in this session of Congress, as amended, by We the People. We hope you will join us in this campaign to take back our elections and our country.
