Tuesday night after White House Adviser Karl Rove's scheduled appearance at a meeting of the Young Republicans club at American University, a group of protesters delayed Rove's car from leaving the campus.
A group of about 20 students lay down in front of the car, yelled, and kicked it, according to witnesses.
Secret Services spokeswoman Kimberly Bruce said that "several individuals who had gathered outside the speech area threw unknown objects at the vehicle."
AU junior Josh Goodman told the Washington Post that protesters planned to make a "citizen's arrest" of Rove based on evidence they claimed to have that Rove had violated a presidential records act about recording White House emails.
No arrests were made.
The following video clip from MSNBC's Hardball shows a video of the incident.
